louis doesn't 'play up the gay' with harry because the moment he does yall will take it as proof that they're a couple. you're saying he could act exactly the same as he does with liam or calvin or niall, in that those are his friends, and yall wouldn't immediately jump on it as 'proof'? if he sat on harry's lap you wouldn't take that as platonic, if he had a water fight with harry it wouldn't be platonic, etc etc. he can't act that way with harry because yall convinced they're a couple

Do you know what the natural human tendency is when someone says they can’t have something? It makes them want it more. Fact. They might not even really want it but the fact that someone says they can’t makes their desire for it to increase.

Heightened attention: When something is hard to get (or forbidden) you immediately pay more attention to it. Notice that when you are on a restricted diet, you sometimes get too focused on what you “can’t” eat. This heightened attention – which can escalate into obsession – makes the forbidden food seem very important.

1DHQ created this situation of heightened attention towards Larry when they basically cut off all interactions cold turkey back in 2012. So obviously over time peoples desire to see them interact grew. In fact, people started paying more attention to them after the interactions stopped because they thought it was so odd that it got to a point where they didn’t even exist on the same stage. And before you say “y'all larries made them stop interacting back in 2012 cause you were so obsessed”, I’m sorry, but no. Between their Twitter messages and physical interactions between 2010-2012, Louis and Harry did nothing to discourage the fans excitement towards them, so it was clearly 1DHQ’s call to shut it down. Louis and Harry demonstrated many times they were rebelling against their managements wishes to keep them separated in the public eye.

So this brings me back to my original question: Why shut down Larry interactions while simultaneously encouraging homoerotic behavior between all the others for the last 3 years? Why completely enforce the two ‘friends’ to stop interacting in the first place? Why was management so afraid of fans shipping the two of them together when this type of harmless romantic shipping existed long before Larry Stylinson?
